Cormorant

Known mostly as a coastal bird the Cormorant can often be found inland on lakes and reservoirs where it feeds on fish by diving deep underwater.

Cormorants often rest with their wings slightly spread, probably to dry them out more quickly. When folded a distinctive wing feather pattern can be seen.

Cormorants have a peculiar, deep green eye colour.
