A large, grey to brown bracket fungus with pale underside.
The Birch Polypore is also known as the Razor Strop fungus because it can apparently be used to “sharpen blades”. Birch Polypore are very common in the West Pennine Moors area and can be found all year.
Interestingly, Otzi the 5300 year old ice mummy was found to be carrying Birch Polypore, perhaps due to its anti-biotic properties.
Not edible.
